The twenty-first century finds Washington blessed with a nice balance of brewpubs and other craft breweries. This was much less the case a decade ago, when Washington was a state of several microbreweries supplying souped-up craft beer taverns known as alehouses but relatively few brewpubs--for the West Coast, that is.
